Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Daniel Garver currently lives and works in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Daniel completed a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2011 and the Core Fellowship at Penland School of Craft from 2015-17. He has participated in numerous residencies including the Jentel Foundation, AZ West, Haystack, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Western New Mexico University, Penland School of Craft, and the Mid Atlantic Keramik Exchange in Iceland. His work has been shown throughout the US in a variety of group and solo exhibitions.

Raw materials for custom mixed casting slip and glaze, firings, and consumable supplies including plaster, sanding screens, mold release, wax, sand paper, shop towels.

Students will take away tools for continued mold making including clamps, mold straps, buckets for plaster, custom made coddle boards, surform, and a wood scraper for plaster.

Malia Peoples is a Native Hawaiian interdisciplinary artist and educator based on Coast Salish lands in Seattle. As the founder of Melted, she creates uplifting porcelain jewelry that blends bold colors and motifs inspired by her cultural background into eye-catching pieces. With a background in fashion design and textile arts, Malia teaches at museums, schools, and arts organizations, sharing her passion for color-driven, gender-neutral design. Her work in textiles and ceramics is currently on display at Seattle’s Wing Luke Museum.

Mark Arnold is a studio potter living and working in Elizabeth City, NC. Mark was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and began taking ceramic classes at a community college. Shortly after he transferred to Edinboro University where he received his B.F.A. in Ceramics. In the spring of 2017, Mark received his M.F.A. from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Mark’s work is represented by multiple galleries around the country and was named one of Ceramics Monthly’s 2018 Emerging Artists.

Raised in the woods of rural Alaska, Milo Berezin moved to Pittsburgh in 2004 to study sculpture and printmaking at Carnegie Mellon University, later earning a MAT at Chatham University. The son of a production potter, he rediscovered the joy of clay while working as an arts administrator and teaching artist at a community ceramics nonprofit. He has shown work with numerous galleries, including Charlie Cummings Gallery, Companion Gallery, Northern Clay Center, and Lillstreet Gallery; presented at NCECA; and been published in Ceramics Monthly.

Forrest Lesch-Middelton began working with clay at the age of 14; he is a potter, tile maker, and educator. Forrest received a Master of Fine Arts from Utah State University in 2006, and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University in 1998. He runs FLM Ceramics and Tile and co-owns Petaluma Pottery, a teaching and membership studio in his hometown of Petaluma, CA. Forrest makes tile and dinnerware for private homes, restaurants, hotels, and businesses throughout the world.

Kelsey Bowen grew up in California where she received her BFA in Ceramics at the California College of the Arts. She was an Artist-in-Residence at Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana. Outside of the studio, Kelsey has taught workshops across the country, including Pocosin Art School of Fine Craft, Penland School of Crafts, and the Lighthouse ArtCenter. Her work has been shown internationally in exhibitions and publications including Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and Ceramics Monthly as an Emerging Artist in 2020.

Michelle Solorzano is a figurative ceramic sculptor and educator from the Dominican Republic, currently based in California. She recently completed a long-term artist residency at the American Museum of Ceramic Art and now teaches ceramics at California State Polytechnic University. Solorzano holds a BFA in Painting and Ceramics from SUNY Potsdam and an MFA in Ceramics from Indiana University.

Eric L. Stearns was born and raised on a ranch near North Platte, Nebraska. In 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Professional Emphasis from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. He went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts from Fort Hays State University in 2008.

After completing his MFA, Eric returned to Doane College, where he now serves as Professor and Chair of the Art & Design Department. When he’s not teaching, Eric dedicates his time to creating thrown, pierced raku art.
