Your participation supports the future of ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, advancing creative technology, capital improvements, scholarship and meaningful access for students and the preservation of our founding legacy as the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts (ISOMATA). Together, we invest in artists who will shape culture and lead the world forward.
Join us as we celebrate 80 years of a world-renowned creative sanctuary where artists of all ages explore their talents, refine their craft, and discover their purpose. The theme for the event is “Artificial Intelligence is not equal to Artistic Intelligence.” Artistic Intelligence recognizes that Artificial Intelligence is simply a tool, like a paintbrush, a camera, or a computer. The ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ citizen-artist is poised to make an impact in the world by bringing strong emotional intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving skills to navigate change and contribute meaningfully in a high-tech world.
ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™ 80th Anniversary, taking place alongside Alumni Reunion Weekend, honors the leadership, legacy, and belief that have shaped the institution since its founding. From the lifelong stewardship of Lillian Pierson Lovelace to the vision of Academy Founder William M. Lowman and the bold, forward-looking leadership of President Pamela Jordan, this milestone reflects a shared commitment to nurturing artists who lead with creativity, courage, and responsibility.
Since its earliest days, ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ has also upheld a deep commitment to Native American art and culture, honoring its mountaintop setting as a place of creative significance. For eight decades, the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Program has provided a vital space where Indigenous artists and traditions thrive, are shared, and are meaningfully woven into programming that affirms art’s essential role in humanity.
Join us as two remarkable voices gather to explore a timely and profound conversation. President Pamela Jordan and celebrated author, radio host, and ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Alumna Celeste Headlee will explore and weave together the threads of human creativity and artificial intelligence — a dialogue as layered and luminous as art itself.
Celeste Headlee teaches in the School for Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State University, the third-largest HBCU in the nation. She is an internationally recognized journalist and radio host, professional speaker, and author. Her TEDx Talk, 10 Ways to Have a Better Conversation, has been viewed over 40 million times, and remains one of the 10 most-watched talks of all time. Celeste is a regular guest host on NPR and American Public Media, serves as an advisory board member for and The Listen First Project, and received the 2019 Media Changemaker Award from Mercer University.
We hope you will join us for this rare and intimate exchange, and be part of a conversation that will inspire, provoke, and illuminate. This special event requires a Patron Level Sponsorship for our 80th Anniversary celebration.
