This hands-on experience includes printing on paper, fabric, and t-shirts, allowing for an interdisciplinary exploration of personal and cultural expression.

Laichas’s ‘Poetry and the Prince‘ will explore how poetry responds to corruption and power by examining diverse political forms from satire to lament, drawing on global poetic traditions. Thompson’s ‘Wordplay and Other Roads to Verse-City‘ will then focus on craft and play, using a variety of forms including prose poems, glosas, centos, and forms of her own creation to discover new approaches to writing.

This transformational class is fully integrated with the Filmmaking Intensive and allows beginning and advanced actors to deeply immerse themselves into the process of acting for the camera in the film world.

Teen artists transform the Creative Technology Lab into their personal “Inventor’s Shed,” where they’ll explore digital fabrication, rapid prototyping, and hands-on design through projects that blend art, technology, and imagination. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to build, experiment, and innovate.

Get a hands-on introduction to the technical and creative foundations of  black-and-white photography. Using a pinhole camera, 35mm camera, and large-format 4×5 camera, you’ll learn how to control exposure through aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. You’ll shoot on black-and-white film, process it by hand using traditional chemical methods, and produce gelatin silver prints in the darkroom. Along the way, you’ll develop a working knowledge of light metering, depth of field, and contrast control.

Each day, you’ll spend half your time learning the fundamentals of drawing, exploring traditional techniques that will help you see the world in new ways. This program provides teenage artists the opportunity to use industry-standard equipment and software—including digital cinema cameras, professional lighting equipment, and advanced editing software—as they work with industry-experienced faculty and Acting for the Camera students to create short films that will premiere in a final culmination. Focus on the fundamentals of becoming a complete dancer without the pressure of an audition! This immersive jazz clinic boasts dynamic mentorship from world renowned faculty, including side-by-sides in rehearsals, intimate masterclasses, and a faculty concert series that highlights both the tradition and shape of jazz to come.

In this intensive, students will develop various acting techniques and the skills needed to perform on stage. Our days will be filled with theater games and exercises, ensemble building/teamwork activities, professional vocal techniques, and—of course—rehearsals! Students will be cast in a play that will be produced and rehearsed over the course of two weeks and performed for an audience of family and friends at the end of the camp.

The ����ֱ�� Instrumental Artist’s Intensive offers a one of a kind opportunity for young artists to engage in a three-week deep dive into everything that a budding musician needs to shape a career in music and get an intimate look at what it’s like to be a part of the ����ֱ��’s musical community. This comprehensive pre-professional artistic experience allows students to immerse themselves in all facets of music making: Chamber Music, Chamber Orchestra, Collaborative Work, and Solo Performance with opportunities to participate in a concerto competition and perform in front of an orchestra, if selected. Students will also participate in private lessons, masterclasses, and additional coaching opportunities, and select classes/workshops as available (ex. conducting, choir, excerpt class, etc.) throughout the program, as well as attend special performances by our seasoned faculty and special guests.
